Leaders

PASTOR/ELDERS

Our Pastor and Elders oversee the spiritual affairs of the church. We believe in a plurality of biblically qualified leaders who share the load of responsibility to guide, protect, feed, care for, and lead God's people. Biblical elders are men who match the qualifications for an elder in 1 Timothy chapter 3, Titus chapter 1, as well as the whole counsel of God's word.

Pastor Doug Lynch has been serving Valley Community Church since May 1, 2004. He completed his A.A.S. Degree at Edmonds Community College and his B.A.S. Degree from Central Washington University in Law and Justice. After earning a two-year Certificate of Ministry from Overlake School of the Ministry, he completed his Master’s In Theological Studies degree from Northwest Graduate School of the Ministry. He and his wife Helen were married in 1987. They have two children, Brandon and Cassandra, who know and love the Lord. Pastor Doug came to V.C.C. after serving as Youth Pastor for Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church for 9 years.

Rick Baken retired in 1997 from the F.B.I., after 28 years of service and moved to Cashmere to a very different business—farming a pear orchard. Rick and his wife Claudia were married in 1970 and have one child, Jessica, a medical resident in North Carolina who loves the Lord. Rick was one of the founding elders of Valley Community Church. He serves as an elder, shepherding the worship team.

Gene Yow works for the Chelan County P.U.D. as a civil engineer. Gene and his wife Mary were married in 1977. They have two sons, Jon and Steve. Gene began attending V.C.C. with his family during its first summer in 1998. Gene supports our church body as an elder by working with the Deacons and the men's ministry. He also serves on the worship team

DEACON/DEACONESS

DEACONS

Deacons are men who assist the elders by overseeing the physical needs of the people and the resources of the church.

DEACONESSES

Deaconesses are women who assist the Deacons as they oversee the physical needs of the church. The Deacons and Deaconess serve as one team at V.C.C., working together to serve the church in a Christ honoring manner.

Donna Bixby – Finance
