What We Believe

What We Believe About Jesus

• Jesus Christ possesses all the divine excellencies, and by nature is co-substantial, co-eternal, co-equal with the Father (John 10:30).
• Jesus is The Word (John 1:1) who created all things and in Him all things hold together (Col 1:15-17, John 1:3, Heb 1:2).
• As a man, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luk 1:36-38).
• Jesus, The Word, became flesh to reveal the Father and work salvation for mankind (John 1:14, Phil. 2:6-11).
• Jesus died upon the cross in our place—the just for the unjust (1 Peter 3:18), as a substitutionary sacrifice (Hebrews 2:9).
• His death for our sins paid the penalty we deserved to pay. In doing so, Christ satisfied God’s just nature by taking upon himself God’s wrath poured out against all sin. All who believe and trust alone in what Jesus Christ has accomplished are set free from the punishment, the power, the penalty, and one day, the very presence of sin (Rom 8:1).
• They are declared righteous, promised eternal life and adopted into the family of God (1 Jn. 5:11-13; Rom. 3:25, 5:1, 8-9; 2 Cor. 5:14-15, 21; 1 Pet. 2:24, 3:18).
• After three days, Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead, according to the Scriptures. (1 Cor 15:3-4).
• He ascended to the right hand of majesty on high as our Great High Priest (Hebrews 8:1) and is our only mediator between God and man (1 Tim 2:5).
• He will come again with the Saints of God to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace (Matt 26:64, 2 Timothy 4:1, Revelation 11:15-18)
